The lineup for the 2013 Chicago Blues Festival was announced this week, and includes headliners Shemekia Copeland and Bobby Rush. The festival features live music on five stages for over 500,000 people, and it’s all free!  Click Here for the Official Chicago Blues Festival Website

This week, the featured selection from inside “Johnny’s Mailbox” is “Tame a Wild One” by JJ Grey and Mofro. The track comes from the brand new album This River, which has been released on Alligator Records. It’s the first studio album by JJ Grey and Mofro since 2010’s Georgia Warhorse, an album that was on our Five Favorite Albums of 2010 list! There are 10 new songs on here, nine of which were written by JJ Grey, himself.
