This week’s playlist is simply phenomenal! There’s a wide variety of Blues styles, to go along with the diverse lineup of acts featured throughout the program. You’ve got marquis names Robert Randolph and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band kicking off the show, as well as relative newcomer Shy Perry (a young lady who has actually been performing alongside her father Bill for a while, now.) There’s even some international flavor, with Aussies Jimi Hocking & Rebecca Davey, as well as newly remastered live material from British Blues Rockers Humble Pie.

The featured selection from inside “Johnny’s Mailbox” is the highly anticipated follow-up to Samantha Fish’s Ruf Records debut. The new album, Black Wind Howlin’ sees Fish teaming up again with label mate Mike Zito – who has now produced both of Samantha’s Ruf Records CDs. There are appearances on the album by members of the band Royal Southern Brotherhood, and a duet between Sam and Paul Thorne on the track “Go to Hell.” Samantha Fish’s Ruf Debut Runaway won Best New Artist Debut at the 2012 Blues Music Awards, and she has been cementing her legacy as one of the hottest artists on the scene ever since.

Black Wind Howlin’ is available now in digital and CD formats from a variety of retailers. You can find album information, tour dates, multimedia and more online at SamanthaFish.com
