2014 Grammy Award WINNERS

grammyIt was an incredibly tight field, but Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite captured the Grammy award for Best Blues Album in the pre-show for the 56th Grammy Awards. Their album Get Up! was released on the newly revived STAX imprint, which is a division of Concord Music Group, these days.

Charlie Musselwhite was also nominated as a part of the all-star lineup featured on the Blind Pig Records release, Remembering Little Walter. Other nominees included James Cotton, Bobby Rush, and Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa.

Other Grammy winners of note include Led Zeppelin’s Celebration Day for Best Rock Album, Gary Clark Jr.’s song “Please Come Home” for Best Traditional R&B Performance, and Terrence Simien & the Zydeco Experience for Best Regional Roots Music Album for their album Dockside Sessions.

The Civil Wars won the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for the track “From This Valley,” one of the only songs to ever appear in multiple episodes of Full-Time Blues Radio.
