Henry Saint Claire Fredericks, Jr. was born in Harlem, New York. His father was a musician and composer who hosted musicians from around the world in their home. That early exposure to different cultures and their music styles sparked an interest in Henry Jr. What began as a young man playing Blues and Folk styles has evolved into a more than four decade career exploring the connections between the globes genres for the legendary performer known as Taj Mahal.

Taj Mahal turns 72 on May 17, 2014, and Full-Time Blues honors this giant of the music community with an hour of his songs, collaborations between Taj and others, and tributes by other bands!
