The featured selection from inside “Johnny’s Mailbox” is a cover of Bobby “Blue” Bland’s classic tune, “Ain’t No Love In the Heart of the City.” The song appears on Jo Harman and Company’s brand new concert recording, Live At The Royal Albert Hall. Jo Harman is rapidly establishing herself as a highly regarded and in-demand Blues diva, showcasing her influences of Blues, Soul, Gospel, and more on this disc. This concert was recorded by the BBC in October of 2013, mere weeks before her debut studio album, Dirt On My Tongue, was released.

In 2014, Jo Harman was named ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ at the British Blues Awards; and now, she celebrates the release of Live At The Royal Albert Hall. Make sure to check out the performance video below this week’s playlist, where you can watch Jo Harman and Company play another song that appears on this disc.
