Listen: Episode 1616

This week’s new music creates an incredibly diverse selection of tunes for our playlist; and the music is all phenomenal! There’s a cover of Hank Williams by Memphis’ Bo-Keys, Punk Rock Blues by Jane Lee Hooker, Latin inspired Blues from Jonn del Toro Richardson, and a new album from harmonica legend Sugar Blue. Eight of this week’s songs come off albums never before featured on the show, with all but one of those being brand new 2016 releases.

The featured selection from inside “Johnny’s Mailbox” is “Blues Came To Chicago” by Danny Marks. The song comes off Danny’s new CD, Cities In Blue. This record was produced from songs that Danny recorded to serve as the soundtrack for his television series, Cities In Blue, a documentary show in which Danny visits Blues meccas and explores their history and impact on the genre. The album, Cities In Blue is available now. You can find complete information on Danny’s official website DannyM.com
