Listen: Episode 1618

This week’s shift features some top tier new release albums, including Moreland & Arbuckle, Too Slim & the Taildraggers, and Paul Reddick. The album unintentionally leans toward harmonica Blues for a large portion of the program, which speaks to the trend we’re seeing in the rise of talented harp players.

The featured selection from inside “Johnny’s Mailbox” is “Won’t Get It” by In Layman Terms. This brother and sister act is comprised of Cole and Logan Layman, who perform out in several different forms: a duo, trio with their mother, or full band. Cole is a terrific guitarist, and Logan provides bass and vocals.

This young act is celebrating the release of their album, Tangled, which features several songs written by the siblings, as well as some that were penned by Holly Montgomery, and selected covers of tunes by Howlin’ Wolf and Janis Joplin. You can find out complete details on this debut album, this talented young band, and much more on their official website 3InLaymanTerms.com
