That’s what you’ll hear, this week, on Full-Time Blues Radio. There are seven albums featured in this playlist that have never had music on the show before!

It’s an hour of hot music to chase your winter Blues away, this week, with the majority of songs featured coming from 2015 releases. The show kicks off with a salute to springtime by John Campbelljohn. In addition to the new selections, you’ll find marquee names like The Black Keys, Watermelon Slim, and JW Jones. One of the new releases featured is the self titled EP by Danielle Nicole. Danielle Schnebelen was one third of the highly regarded Blues trio Trampled Under Foot with her two brothers. That band was dissolved last year, and Danielle teamed with Anders Osborne, who produced the studio tracks on this new EP. The other two songs are recordings from Danielle’s appearance on The Bridge 90.9 in Kansas City.
Scroll below this week’s playlist to watch videos of those two performances!

The featured selection from inside “Johnny’s Mailbox” is a cover of the Howlin Wolf track “Who’s Been Talking” by Jorge Salan and the Majestic Jaywalkers. It comes off the album Madrid//Texas, which features eight songs total, with additional covers of BB King and Robert Johnson.

Jorge Salan is from Spain and was kind enough to contact Full-Time Blues Radio right here on the website. He is known primarily as a Rock guitarist, but wanted to capture his love for the Blues with this new album. The guitar work is incendiary, calling to mind Joe Bonamassa’s fiery fretwork. As mentioned at the beginning of the show, this week, it’s a pretty gutsy thing to craft a list of albums and say they’re “the best.” Yet, every December, countless media outlets try to hammer you with their opinions of the best releases from the last 12 months. I don’t think art can be judged that way, so this week’s playlist features music from my favorite albums of 2014. – Johnny Full-Time

The show features a wide selection of Blues styles, and some truly independent releases alongside some big name artists like Gary Clark, Jr., Paul Thorn, and Janiva Magness, to name a few. There’s no featured selection from inside “Johnny’s Mailbox,” this week. However, several of these albums were featured throughout the year.

Remember, 100% of the proceeds made from the sale of this album benefit the Sean Costello Memorial Fund for Bipolar Research. You can find complete information on their official website: SeanCostelloFund.org

This week’s show is stuffed with some incredible new Blues tunes. The fall 2014 releases continue to roll in, and we’re spreading the love over the course of a few shows. That way, we can work in some older releases that have flown under the radar. Don’t worry, though. These “older releases” came out in 2014, as well, except for two 2013 CDs. The featured selection from inside “Johnny’s Mailbox” is “I Went Wrong” by Sean Costello. It comes off the brand new record, In The Magic Shop, which is available now from the Vizz-Tone Label Group. Sean passed away, tragically, back in 2008. This album was recorded in 2005, and the people close to Sean left it unreleased as they dealt with his loss and shaped these sessions into the album he envisioned.

It is an amazing record, with a great mix of original, personal songwriting and well chosen covers. It will be regarded as one of the best records to come out in 2014. Perhaps, just as importantly, 100% of the money earned from the sale of In The Magic Shop goes to directly support the Sean Costello Memorial Fund for Bi-Polar Research. This organization was founded by Sean’s mother after his passing to selflessly fight against Bi-Polar Disorder. Please consider purchasing this album, and Click Here to Visit SeanCostelloFund.org
